We propose to use the CTIO 1.5m to obtain low-medium resolution (8.6Å) classification spectroscopy for ~600 r'< 16 candidate standard stars from our recently completed NOAO Survey Program 2000B- 0025, ``Southern Standard Stars for the u'g'r'i'z' System'' (J.A. Smith, PI). This earlier observing program obtained imaging (photometric) data on the CTIO-0.9m telescope in order to extend the original northern+equatorial u'g'r'i'z' standard star network (Smith et al. 2002) to the southern hemisphere. The proposed spectroscopic observations will enhance the usefulness of our standard stars for the astronomical community by providing spectral types and rough luminosity classes.
