The results of a spectrophotometric investigation of the binary galaxy NGC 4922 are presented. One of the components is an elliptical galaxy with integrated absorption spectrum corresponding to the spectral classes G0-G3, while the second has the spectral features of a Seyfert nucleus with low degree of ionization. The physical conditions and chemical composition of the second component are also similar to those in a type 2 Seyfert galaxy. The mass of the Seyfert-like component within a radius of 1 kpc is found to be about 0.4 x 10 to the 8th solar masses, and the mass of the complete system 2.2 x 10 to the 11th solar masses.
