Detailed spectral investigation of 8 H II regions in the giant irregular galaxy Mark 297 is carried out. Mark 297 shows the rotation of at least three condensations: K1, K2 and K3arcmin in opposite directions. The masses of K1, K2 and K3arcmin are estimated. The mass values of these condensations are within the limits: 0.9×108 - 1.3×109M_sun;. The abundances of oxygen, nitrogen, sulphur, neon and helium in H II regions are determined. From the analysis of N and O abundances the author assumes that Mark 297 is a system of, at least, two galaxies. The first is an irregular one (K2, and, apparently, K6); the second is a spiral of late type with a nucleus of K1 and superassociations: K3, K4, K5, K5arcmin and K7.
