The present work discusses the possibility of using the Q-value in spectral classification of Be stars. Also, it shows how the comparison between the spectral type obtained by the Q-method and any other method will help in detection of stars that are wrongly classified or those presenting discrepancy in spectral type due to peculiarity or rotation, by defining a new quantity Delta-Q.
