The spectral characteristics of the continuum emission from the supernova remnant CTA 1 have been studied over the frequency range from 151.5 to 2695 MHz. A point-by-point analysis of the spectral index shows that there exist only small deviations from the mean value = 0.47 (S ∼ ν-α). Polarization measurements at 2695 and 1720 MHz indicate a magnetic field which is tangential to the shell at those places where shell structure is well defined. The physical parameters of the remnant including possible X-ray emission are discussed as are the characteristics of some point sources in the field.
