The Gamma-ray Burst Monitor (GBM) on-board the Fermi Gamma-ray Space Telescope, NASA's new generation high-energy observatory, is dedicated to the detection of transient sources, in particular Gamma-Ray Bursts (GRBs). We report here on the spectral properties of the 3 brightest short GRBs observed with GBM. These 3 events exhibit strong spectral evolution in the keV-MeV range. Their - extremely hard - spectra show a deviation from the Band function and can be adequately fit with an additional power law, indicating a possible extra spectral component. The hardness of these events appears to be much higher than what we have observed for the hardest long GRBs. For the first time, using the unique capabilities of GBM, we can perform very fine time-resolved spectroscopy down to millisecond resolution for all these events and compare the spectral evolution of short GRBs with previous observations of long GRBs. We find that the spectral evolution of short GRBs is similar to that of long ones, with the peak energy of the Band function tracking the light curves. Finally, we discuss how these observations challenge the validity and failures of the current models.
