Five night observations of comet Halley was done on March 21 - 25, 1986. The dispersion of the first order spectrum is 165 Å/mm with a blaze wavelength of 3930 Å. The plates show a continuum with very strong emission lines of CN (3883, 4216), C2 (4365, 4737), C3 (4050), CN (4216) and CH (4315). The features of the spectra are similar to those of comet Cunningham 1941 I at a heliocentric distance of 1.03 a.u. Through 90 minutes exposure the only emission line on non-baked red plates is CN (3883). This means that until 7000 Å no emission line was stronger than CN (3883).
