The application of speckle imaging to reconstruction of solar surface features with resolution approaching the telescope limit despite severe atmospheric blurring in the original data is described. The imaging process is outlined, and sample reconstructions of solar photographs exhibiting relatively small surface features are presented. It is noted that the ultimate resolution of the process is the diffraction limit of the telescope, independent of seeing conditions.
