A study is made of the spatial distribution of electrons in electron-photon cascades and air showers of ultrahigh energies at large distances (2 km or greater) from the shower axis. In particular, attention is given to the effect of atmospheric inhomogeneity, Compton scattering angle of photons, and scintillation detector properties on the form of spatial distribution. The applicability region of the small-angle approximation is estimated.
