The cause of the rapid decrease of the spatial coherence of the field of electron-content disturbances of the F2 layer is evaluated. This cause is related to the fact that the disturbance field consists of both wave disturbances determined by the propagation of internal acoustic-gravity waves and by disturbances of a stochastic nature. A method for deternmining true values of the coherence of the wave disturbances is proposed.
