We report that the Kerr metric admits no proper homothetic motions, proper affine collineations, proper special projective collineations or proper projective collineations. As a result Carter's Killing tensor conserved quantity is not associated with one of these spacetime symmetries. These results were obtained using the computer algebra package Dimsym.
