Results are presented from an ongoing VSOP/Halca and global array VLBI program at a wavelength of 6 cm to monitor the inner few parsecs of Virgo A (M87). The highest resolution images have a resolution along the jet axis of about 0.4 millarcseconds (or, equivalently, 0.03 pc). Little proper motion (<10-2 c) is seen over 1.5 years, which is at variance with the well-documented, apparent, superluminal motions seen with HST and VLA monitoring programs. The reasons for the disparity are examined. Some local, but static, brightness changes are seen in the VLBI jet, however. This work is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.
