We present various shell sources of vacuum, static cylindrical spacetimes with and without the cosmological constant. The matter forming the sources can be interpreted as geodetical (null) dust or perfect fluid. We give ranges of metric parameters admitting such interpretations and find relations for the mass per unit length of the source.
