Sounding rocket and ballooning activity of the Institute of Space and Astronautical Science (ISAS) in the year 2001 and 2002 are summarized associated with ongoing scientific satellite launching programs. Three sounding rockets and fourteen balloons were launched by ISAS, and several international collaborated balloon experiments were conducted at various ballooning sites including Antarctica. Many new scientific findings were obtained through these activities making use of the flight opportunities by ISAS.
