Scientific paper
A number of examples of the accumulation of random variations, resulting
in such phenomena as fluctuations in the light cycles of certain Mira
stars, and variations in the climate and in sunspot cycles, are
discussed. The obstacles to the construction of a mathematical model to
predict such random variations are discussed.
