Periodicities in three series of ground based observations of Comet Halley are investigated. One series consists of brightness measurements during January to February 1984; the other two series are residuals of observations of the right ascension and declination of the comet from December 1985 to February 1986. Harmonic analysis has revealed the periodic components of these series. In the first series, a component with a period of 2.36 plus or minus 0.084 days has been detected, which is explained by the self-rotation of the comet nucleus. Components with periods of 10.0 plus or minus 2.3 days and 9.1 plus or minus 2 days, respectively, were found for sections of the second and third series from December 12, 1985 to January 1986.
