I give a brief review of some of the most studied areas of
"quantum-gravity phenomenology", and I use the illustrative example of
studies considering the possibility of Planckscale departures from
Lorentz symmetry as basis for some remarks on methodology. I also
discuss some new opportunities for this phenomenology.
