The spectral analysis is a fundamental method of studying prominences.
Three aspects are briefly reviewed: (1) the theory of spectral analysis
of prominences, (2) the methods of spectral analysis, and (3) the
results of spectral analysis. Finally, some comments on the further
development of the work in this field are given.
