A stellar model in which density in the undisturbed gas is assumed to obey power law is considered. An exact analytic self-similar solution for shock velocity, pressure and density is obtained under the assumption of isothermal conditions in the rear flow field. An expression to study analytically the extent of vacuum in the inner core of the gaseous sphere is deduced for any explosion problem and is applied here to obtain the extent of the inner vacuum analytically.
