A distribution that plots as two straight line segments on probability paper is examined. It is shown that this distribution may be thought of as being composed of two truncated normal probability functions, A and B , with the restriction that ( A B - B A )/( A - B ) equals the value of the variable at the truncation point. It is further shown that if the truncation point occurs at a cumulative frequency of 69%, ( B - A )/( A - B ) very nearly equals 0.5.
