Results are presented for a statistical study of spectroscopic binary systems. Component masses, mass ratios, component separations, and orbital angular momenta are calculated for 826 spectroscopic binaries. The stellar distributions in terms of these parameters and in terms of the spectral type, spectral subtype, and luminosity class of the primary are analyzed, along with various correlations. The dependence of the statistical properties of the spectroscopic binaries on the origin and evolution of the systems is examined. Selection effects in the data are also considered.
