Scientific paper

The paper deals with measurements of the latitudinal distribution of cosmic-ray neutron component intensity, carried out onboard the research ship Akademik Kurchatov during February through May 1975, and June through October 1977 in the Atlantic Ocean and March through June 1976 in the Indian Ocean. The coupling coefficients of the neutron component, calculated from the Kurchatov data, are diagrammed and their similarity and differences are discussed. The effect of coastal structures on the recordings of lead-free neutron monitors is noted.
