A semianalytic solution of the transfer equation for the line transfer problem involving no absorption in the continuum has been obtained. Application of the orthogonality and normalization integrals of McCormick and Siewert (1970) has made possible the derivation of a set of singular integral equations for the noncoherent spectral line formation problem in finite media. Fn equations for exit distributions are employed to obtain algebraic equations with suitable recursion relations.
