The one-solitonic perturbation of a Bianchi type II model cosmology is constructed analytically, applying the results of Belinskii and Francaviglia (1982) and the inverse-scattering techniques of Belinskii and Zakharov (1978). An inhomogeneous solitary gravitational shock wave is obtained, and its asymptotic behavior at time infinity and space infinity is investigated using a modified version of the oscillatory approach to singularities of Belinskii et al. (1970 and 1972).
