IN the French Comptes Rendus of August 4, which has lately reached this country, is an account by Plainer Secchi of a remarkable outburst from the sun's limb witnessed by him on July 7, which lasted from 3h 30m to 6h 50m (Roman time, I presume), or nearly 2h 40m to 6h 0m (Greenwich time).
