A T-A vector is defined as corresponding to the difference between the diurnal variations sorted according to the toward (T) and away (A) polarity of the interplanetary magnetic field. The vector is then analyzed for the period of the solar magnetic dipole reversal in 1969-1971 using neutron data of a world-wide network of 470 station-years accumulated between 1964 and 1974. Space harmonic components, responsible for the observed T-A vector, are determined. It is suggested that the gradient of cosmic rays perpendicular to the ecliptic plane points south for the period of 1964-1970; it is reversed after 1971 and points north.
