New data on solar coronal mass ejections (CMEs) and associated events are summarized. Topics addressed include general information on CMEs and methods of observing them; differences between measurements of CME parameters and white-light coronagraphs on board the P78-1 and SMM satellites; relationships between CME, precursor, and flare; and eruption of filaments (prominences) and the onset of CMEs. Also discussed are models of CME eruption; CME radio emission; CMEs and the final phase of the flare; CMEs and slow shock waves; variations of CME parameters during the solar activity cycle; CMEs and coronal evolution; the 3D structure of CMEs; interplanetary manifestations of CMEs; and CMEs from flares and disappearing filaments as a single spectrum of solar eruptive phenomena.
