Far infrared slit scans across the Galactic center are presented. These scans give spatial information on the luminosity distribution of this region on the smallest scale yet attained. These scans, made along the galactic plane through IRS16, show two luminosity peaks 39` (2 pc) apart. The NE peak is considerably hotter than that to the SW. When image restoration and deconvolution techniques are applied to the data, it is found that the luminosity peaks are surrounded by a region of cold dust emission. The cool dust emission appears to coincide spatially with the molecular ring, while the luminosity peaks are completely contained within the ring.
