The narrow bandwidth of a solar radio spike is a characteristic parameter. Using this spike bandwidth not only the small-scale structure of spike source dimension can be calculated but also the theory of spike emission can be checked with the observations. Using the observational data with a frequency resolution of 0.5 MHz obtained at Yunnan Observatory, the authors got a bandwidth distribution of spikes in a frequency range from 230 MHz to 300 MHz, and derived the possible dimension of spike sources to be 151 km and the upper limitation to be 830 km.
