Slow variations in the light of BY Dra were analyzed from 1971-1975, confirming their periodic nature with a period of 3.8 days and an amplitude of 0.02 m. A damping of the light variations, lasting several days, was also noted in one case (the interval ID 2441850-2441861), after which the variation was reestablished, but with a different phase. This phenomenon resembles the variation in the light of delta Scu-type stars. Because of the significant influence of random errors on the results of the observations, the shape of the light curve and its probable variations could not be determined. The stars HD 172268 and HD 172468, which have parameters similar to those of BY Dra, exhibited some variations in the light, which had the same amplitude as BY Dra, but the spectra of these stars do not reveal components of a particular frequency with an appreciable amplitude. For BY Dra, no correlation was found between the phase of the variation in the light and the time at which flares occurred.
