The Space Infrared Telescope Facility (SIRTF) Observatory incorporates
many design innovations and new technology developments. This paper
describes the current status of the Observatory design. Details of the
telescope, cryostat and spacecraft are presented, along with discussions
of the innovative "warm launch" architecture concept employed by SIRTF.
