The feasibility of observing globular cluster in M31 using amateur equipment is discussed on the basis of 25-min exposures obtained on hypersensitive film with an f/760 (f/D = 4.0) flat-field camera at Starkenberg Sternwarte on September 19, 1984. These images are compared with a Mt. Wilson 2.5-m image and with numerical data based on large-telescope observations. It is estimated that the use of sensitized films permits photography of clusters of 15.0 mag in 30-min exposures with a 4.5/300 teleobjective.
