In the paper it is represented the results of modeling experiments permitting to measure ceramic composition change during thruster operation on gas mixture - xenon + nitrogen. The simulation was done by the following way: the ceramic inserts were put into the SPT channel. Surfaced layer composition of the inserts was examined by RBS method before and after thruster operation. The results of the experiments showed that nitrogen presence in the flow influenced insufficiently onto ceramic composition. It was found out that there was no sufficient growth of nitrogen concentration in the surfaced layers of ceramic.
