In order to support activities in connection with NASA's space exploration agenda, Boeing is conducting simulations and analyses to evaluate and optimize architectures and operational approaches for a lunar surface outpost near the Moon's South Pole. One of the objectives is to produce needed analytical outputs to help maximize the performance of productive tasks, such as ISRU (Moon rock mining & processing), science, and exploration, while minimizing the required associated maintenance tasks for equipment and humans, the cargo and consumables demand needed to perform these tasks, and the necessary non-productive human infrastructure.
