We have analysed the spatial and temporal evolution of photospheric magnetic and doppler velocities in active regions, particularly in the superactive region NOAA 10486, to detect pre- and post-flare changes. These findings have been compared with recent reports by other workers, and significance of these results has been discussed. Helioseismic response of large flares, and the role of sub-photospheric flows in flare-productive as compared to that in less flare-productive active regions are presented.
