We report on a complete analysis of SIGMA observations of the Coma cluster region taken in the period 1990-1991. The cluster core is not detected leading to a lower limit of 0.3 mu Gauss on the mean volume-averaged magnetic field in this region. A faint source is detected in the 30-75 keV energy band at about 30 arcminutes from the cluster core. The source position is compatible with the background AGN X Comae which is the strongest point source in the field in soft X-rays. We consider our source as the hard X-ray counterpart of X Comae. After the Perseus and the Virgo clusters, this is the third time that hard X-ray emission coming from the central regions of a cluster is attributed to an active galactic nucleus in the field of view of the instrument. We discuss how this fact should be taken into account in present-day and future hard X-ray observations of clusters of galaxies.
