Short-duration changes in green-corona structure are investigated, including loop expansion, formation, brightening and disappearance, step-wise growth, fast expansion and dark space changes. Three different systems of loops and arches in coronal condensation are identified: the plane system; the fan-type system; and the tunnel system. The step-wise growth of loops is shown to be different from loop expansion, in that it does not affect the length of the loop. Mass and energy increases in a typical loop are estimated to be on the order of 10 to the 10th kg and 10 to the 23rd J, respectively. The kinetic energy densities for the active features of the corona, photosphere, and chromosphere are compared and it is found that the kinetic energy density decreases as the height of the active feature increases. Magnetic energy increases are found to be the predominant cause of loop expansion in the green-corona. It is observed that all changes in coronal condensation are apparently interrelated, and that changes in plasma velocities, dimension and duration are similar to other manifestations of solar activity observed in the white corona, X-ray and H-alpha prominences.
