After the Meeting held at the Osservatorio Astronomico of Marana di Crespadoro (VI) in May 2009, the activities of the renewed UAI section of Italian variable star observers, named UAI-SSV- GRAV, are to be considered officially started. In this paper we present the purposes, the methodology and the results of the first observations of the RR L yrae subsection, mainly dedicated to the study of short period pulsating stars. We report here, also, light curves of the variables AE UMa and GSC 3087: 2079.
