The placement of spacecraft for the servicing of national resources in the Earth-Moon and in the Sun-Earth regime is made difficult by the unstable dynamics of the libration points. For example, trip times associated with achieving these orbits can vary and are dependent upon many initial conditions. The design of a trajectory used to achieve mission requirements for servicing or staging nodes is intricate but can be facilitated by the use of unique orbits to achieve the proper flight time or to minimize the amount of fuel mass necessary. We explore the application of direct and indirect transfers to advantageous libration locations that will best support servicing, deployment, and staging. The use of dynamical systems and optimization plays a key role in this effort. Results of our paper demonstrate the viability of some unique transfers that meet the GSFC NEXT goals and those for a possible servicing or deployment of NGST and similar missions. New technologies to meet advanced mission design and servicing requirements are investigated. Required launch energies, payload masses, Delta-Vs, Fuel, and trip times are discussed.
