At this remarkable meeting astronomers gathered to compare methods and results on the separation of the flux from the components of binary stars. Here I will present a brief review of some of the new techniques that will soon become the commonplace working tools in this field. I will also highlight some of the exciting new observational results that were presented. We are entering an era where important results will come from a combination of observational methods (astrometry, high angular resolution measurements, photometry, spectroscopy, and multiwavelength studies). These techniques will allow us to push investigations into regions of binary separation and flux ratio that are unexplored realms at the moment.
