Results of 12 rocket experiments involving the formation of artificial luminescent clouds at midlatitudes (over Volgograd) during 1974-1978 are examined. The experiments were carried out in order to investigate the structure of the semidiurnal tide at heights of 90-140 km. The parameters of the principal semidiurnal modes (2, 2) and (2, 4) are assessed; and it is shown that the intensity of small-scale turbulence at heights of 95-115 km can increase as a result of the convective drift of peaks during the propagation of the (2, 4) mode.
