Uranus Rings: Masses, Uranus Rings: Numerical Methods

The authors derive the analytical expression of the self-gravity of Uranian elliptical rings with N-streamline formalism (N → ∞), and give the coefficient of the expression by numerical calculations. According to this, the authors explain and prove the conclusion that the two-streamline self-gravity model will overestimate the mass of the ring. For the masses of ɛ, α, β rings, quantitative results given by the N-streamline self-gravity model (N → ∞) are only about 2/5 as much as those given by the 2-streamline model.
