In this work we calculate the magnetic and electric self-forces on a long straight wire, induced by an axially asymmetric topological line defect carrying singular torsion, the edge dislocation. We consider both the case of a constant current along the wire and the case of a static, uniformly charged, wire. We also show how these self-forces are related by a Lorentz transformation.
