We report several new results on small-amplitude pulsating red giants: (1) the identification of the pulsation modes in a large sample of these stars, by comparing observed and theoretical Q-values; most are pulsating in the F or 1H mode, a few in the 2H or 3H mode; (2) the discovery of multiperiodicity in five of these stars, namely RZ Ari, V523 Mon, BC CMi, UX Lyn and FS Com; (3) the study of the season-to-season variability of the amplitude of the modes in these five stars; the amplitudes tend to rise and fall in unison; and (4) a suggestion that the long secondary periods in some of these stars may be due to binarity.
