A superimposed grid point (SGP) method is proposed to study inconsistencies between data sets obtained from the Scandinavian Twin Auroral Radar Experiment (STARE) and the Sweden and Britain Radar Experiment (SABRE). The technique makes it possible to study the angular variation of Doppler velocities for a given electron drift velocity. The method was tested using STARE and SABRE data from seven separate electrojet events. Doppler velocity measurements of Nielsen and Schlegel (1985), obtained using the ion acoustic method, were compared with the data treated using the SGP method and good agreement was found.
