As an aid to crustal interpretations, seismic reflection studies have been conducted where Precambrian crystalline rocks are exposed at the surface in the Laramie Range, Wyoming. Numerous events have been found in different geologic settings at two-way times from 2.0 to 6.5 s using small charges and simple recording and processing. Reflections are found in most geologic environments involving igneous and metamorphic rocks. The seismic reflection method is obtaining a much more detailed geophysical picture of the crust than previously suggested from geophysical studies.
