On the basis of the comparative analysis of ΔT = ET-UT1 (for the interval 1861 - 1978) and the geomagnetic index Aa (for the interval 1868 - 1977) it could be admitted that ΔT and Aa have common quasi-periodic variations of 11 and 22 yrs. The variations of UT1 with the characteristic 30-yr and 65-yr period, assumed by several authors, are probably due to a wrong interpretation of data.
