X-ray data collected by rockets, balloons and satellites during 1964-1979 are listed in a catalogue of X-ray sources containing 677 objects, and optical and radio counterparts are suggested. The number of X-ray sources of each type in the galaxy is estimated. The data include 73 bright, steady sources, 159 sources associated with extragalactic objects, 275 weak, steady sources unassociated with extragalactic objects, 63 burst sources, 40 transient sources, 24 X-ray supernova remnants, 44 soft sources, and 8 hard sources.
