The variation of the dissipation rate of turbulence energy at heights of 75-80 km was investigated from July 1985 to June 1986 on the basis of rocket-sounding measurements involving artificial-cloud radar observations at the Volgograd station. The results obtained are discussed from the standpoint of the effect of turbulence on seasonal variations of NO concentration in the D-region. The seasonal variations of turbulence are found to be well-correlated with seasonal variations of internal-gravity-wave intensity.
