In the present paper, horizontal spatial distribution of ionization in the presence of distinct quasi-periodic fluctuations of the critical frequency of the F2 layer is studied on the basis of data from 11 vertical sounding stations, situated within a narrow longitudinal interval. The analysis indicates that in winter, the phase shift of the periodic critical-frequency fluctuations in the horizontal plane is directed toward the equator, and in summer to the north. At equinox, these directions interchange, via the west.
